Home audio, installed as cleanly as the TV.
Priced after we see the room
Surround sound for the TV, speakers in the walls and ceiling, wireless speakers through the house and music on the patio. Speakers placed where they sound right and wires out of sight.
What we install
Four kinds of home audio.
Surround sound setup
Front, center and rear speakers and the subwoofer placed around where you sit, mounted where they need to be and connected to your receiver or soundbar system.
- Speakers placed for the seat, not just the wall
- Rear speaker wires run in the wall where it allows
In-wall & in-ceiling speakers
Speakers cut into the drywall so they sit flush, with the wire run inside the wall or through the attic back to your TV or receiver.
- Flush with the wall or ceiling
- No speaker wire on show
Wireless speakers (Sonos and similar)
Wireless speakers mounted, connected to your Wi-Fi and the app on your phone, grouped by room and linked to the TV where the system supports it.
- Mounted on the wall or a bracket
- Set up in the app and ready to play
Outdoor & patio speakers
Outdoor speakers mounted on the patio, deck or under the eaves, with the wire run back inside to your receiver or amp.
- Mounted to stay put in the weather
- Wire kept tidy along the way
How pricing works
Every room is different, so we see it first.
TV mounting has fixed prices because most TV walls are alike. Audio isn't: two rooms with the same speakers can take very different amounts of work. So we look at the room, then give you a price before any work starts.
What changes the price
- How many speakers, and whether they go on the wall or into it.
- The wire run: how far it goes, and whether there is attic or crawl space to get it there.
- The walls and ceiling: drywall is straightforward; brick, stone and some ceilings take more.
- Setup: connecting a receiver, or setting wireless speakers up in their app.
What to have ready
- Your speakers, receiver or soundbar system, if you already have them.
- An idea of where you sit, and which rooms you want music in.
- Your Wi-Fi name and password for wireless speakers.
Getting a TV mounted too? It is often easiest to do both on one visit. See soundbar mounting and TV mounting.
Questions
Home audio questions.
How much does home audio installation cost?
It depends on the room: how many speakers, whether they go on the wall or into it, and how far the wire has to run. We see the room first and give you a price before any work starts. Call 775-247-7782 to set that up.
Can you do it on the same visit as my TV?
Yes. Tell us about the speakers when you book your TV mounting and we will plan both together, so the TV, soundbar and speaker wires are all worked out at once.
Should I buy the speakers first?
If you already have them, great: we install what you have. If you have not bought them yet, talk to us first. In-ceiling and in-wall speakers need to suit the space behind the drywall, and it is easier to choose once we know what is there.
Can the speaker wire be hidden?
On framed drywall walls and ceilings, usually yes: the wire runs inside the wall or through the attic. Brick, stone and some ceilings leave nowhere to run it, and we will tell you what can be done when we see the room.
Do you set up wireless speakers like Sonos?
Yes. We mount them, connect them to your Wi-Fi and the app on your phone, group the rooms you want playing together and link them to the TV where the system supports it.
Can you put speakers outside?
Yes, on a patio, deck or under the eaves. Use speakers made for outdoor use: Reno summers are hard on them and winters in Truckee and Tahoe are harder.
For the TV wall
